Healing Soba Noodle Soup – Bev Cooks

We’ve suffered through day two of the raging flu at my house. While subtle moans of what sound to be human agony resonate from the sofa, I’m constantly trying to keep the house decontaminated by hosing down the walls with sanitizer and attaching a tube from my husband’s mouth that leads out the back door. […]

Recipe: Lima Beans With Cumin-Mint Dressing | The Kitchn

Raise your hand if you love lima beans! … Anyone? It may seem cruel to write about limas during Back to School (Work) Week when so many kids – and adults – seem to have an aversion to them, but we’re firmly in the love ’em camp. Plus, they’re in season right now at many farmers’ markets. Have you ever tried them fresh?

Strawberry Rhubarb Pie Recipe | SimplyRecipes.com

I simply adore strawberry rhubarb pie.  I used this recipe, but used store bought pie crusts.  I modified the recipe to make it a little healther.  I used fully half the sugar (1/2 cup) and added 1 chopped mango.  I then split the recipe between two pie crusts, leaving each one un-topped, effectively reducing half the dough per pie.  Each pie is fairly small, not overfilled, encouraging each slice to be less without feeling like it.

The BEST homemade strawberry rhubarb pie recipe! Sweet fresh strawberries paired with tart rhubarb and a hint of orange zest.

Recipe: Crispy Pan-Fried Beans with Wilted Greens — Recipes from The Kitchn | The Kitchn

There’s a certain satisfying symmetry to a dish with slightly crispy, blistered, pan-fried beans mixed with ribbons of tender greens. If you’re at home for lunch, this makes a perfect mid-day meal. Otherwise, add a poached egg or scoop of pasta and this becomes an easy dish to throw together for dinner.

Vegan Butternut Squash ‘Carbonara’ with Coconut Bacon + Crispy Sage – Izy Hossack – Top With Cinnamon

This recipe is my current wintery fave. It’s got it all: pasta, creamy sauce, fried sage AND lotsa coconut bacon. The coconut bacon part is kind of the most exciting bit for me.
