Plain Steamed Buns (Mantou) Recipe on Food52

I tried this recipe and liked how it came out.  I decreased the sugar to one teaspoon  however as I am diabetic. I stuffed mine with a homemade sugar free red bean chocolate paste (mashed adzuki beans with stevia and cocoa powder).

A simple, six-ingredient recipe for plain steamed buns (or mantou), adaptable to make steamed buns with filling (baozi). Replace one cup of the flour with cake flour for a finer, fluffier bun.

Thai Coconut Soup (Tom Kha) Recipe – Stupid Easy Paleo

I added baby spinach and bok choy to mine.  As I dont eat seafood, I omitted the shrimp and fish sauce.  In place of fish sauce I added a bit of soy sauce, green curry paste and red miso.  To make this a full meal, I also added some maifun rice noodles.

Traditional New Mexico Tamales

Personally, I don’t like pork.  So I fill these with beef, chicken, beans, peppers and onions, or whatever.  At thanksgiving I like to fill them with roasted turkey and top them with gravy and cranberry sauce.

I’m doing a combo of two recipes tonight.  Plus a half. Im making these brussel sprouts tacos with creamy avovado sauce, but instead of black beans, Im using red lentils as in this Red Lentil Tacos recipe

AND, I’m adding some browned ground taco-seasoned turkey.

Polenta With Mushrooms and Soy Recipe – NYT Cooking

you can use pre-made polenta to save on time, but make your own for a big cost savings.  i made this with pre-made, cut into rounds and then pan fried until crispy, then coated with the mushrooms on top.  it was delicious!
